Feature Overview
Sigstr ONE provides a unique way for customers to activate employee email as an owned digital marketing channel. By appending signature content to employee email after the send, Sigstr ONE ensures platform-independent adoption across a multitude of email applications including Exchange, Google Apps, O365, Salesforce, Outlook, and mobile email clients.
Feature Details
Sigstr ONE combines the Email Experiences Content Platform with a range of Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) integrations to send branded emails from any source platform or client. Once activated by your IT department, Sigstr ONE reroutes employee email to run through an MTA, where Email Experiences content is applied. This ensures that each email sent is consistently branded no matter where the email originates.
Implementation/Setup
For deployment, Terminus uses standard server hardware, or virtual machines, to deliver Sigstr ONE. Setup typically takes less than 1 hour. Exim is utilized as the MTA for the delivery of email. As Exim is a continuously maintained open source product, it is kept up-to-date to support key email requirements such DomainKeys and SPF.
Like many of Terminus Email Experiences' deployment methods, Sigstr ONE’s setup and day-to-day administration can be managed by the Marketing department via the Email Experiences application. This means that the effort of creating and managing signature templates, signature campaigns, and campaign analytics does not fall to the IT department.
IT retains the sole authority to make configuration changes to key areas of the application but is freed from handling day-to-day branding and marketing tasks.
End User Experience
When utilizing Sigstr ONE, the Email Experiences signature is not displayed during compose. To ensure signatures are not duplicated, it is recommended that end users delete all previously used signature templates. If an end user would like to see what their signature looks like at any time, a test email can be sent to brandingtest@terminus.com. Furthermore, if an end user wants to ensure their Email Experiences signature is appended to a specific location in outbound emails, they can create a default signature that contains the placeholder @MYSIGNATURE@. Upon send, Terminus will locate the placeholder and replace it with the Email Experiences template.
Deliverability
In addition to Terminus' standard deliverability features, Sigstr ONE presents a new set of best practices. Sigstr ONE can actually improve email deliverability by ensuring MIME compliance of mail sent from legacy systems, CRM or ERP packages. Sigstr ONE also monitors and detects malformed email messages, nonstandard MIME attachments, and other problems that can prevent successful email delivery. In many cases, Email Experiences corrects these problems before a bounced message is ever generated.
The greatest deliverability advantage of Sigstr ONE is the fact that it is a solution with no single point of failure. Should a component of the Sigstr ONE architecture fail, mail will continue to route. Sigstr ONE functions as an independent SMTP relay which means that troubleshooting is much more straightforward than mail server plug-ins that perform similar tasks. Sigstr ONE also provides the flexibility of different mail routing options so email is kept up and running at all times.
