Ensuring Google Web Designer HTML5 Compatibility With Terminus

To ensure compatibility with Terminus Ad Experiences, complete the following step for each HTML5 creative you want to upload.

In Google Web Designer:

1. Make sure to set the project's environment is set to "Display & Video 360."

2. Once your ad is completed, go to the components panel and insert the Tap Area component.

3. Rename the "Tap Area" Component to "clickTAG"

3. Make sure the clickTAG component is the highest layer on the timeline. Otherwise your ad may lose clicks!

4. Click the clickTAG layer, then in the bottom left of the events panel, click the "+" sign.

5. Choose clickTAG then "touch / click", select "Google Ad" then choose "Exit ad." For the receiver choose "gwd-ad" or whatever you named your ad.

6. Under Metrics ID put in "clickTAG"

7. Under URL put the full URL you want to ad to take the user to (include UTMs as well!)

8. Hit ok! Zip your ad, and its ready to serve on Terminus!

Custom Code Method:

1. Find the closing </body> tag and paste the following block of code right before it.

<script type="text/javascript">
function getParameterByName(name) {
name = name.replace(/[\[]/, "\\[").replace(/[\]]/, "\\]");
var regex = new RegExp("[\\?&]" + name + "=([^&#]*)"),
results = regex.exec(location.search);
return results === null ? "" :
decodeURIComponent(results[1].replace(/\+/g, " "));
var banner = document.getElementById('YOUR_DIV_ID_HERE');
var clickTag = getParameterByName('clickTAG');
window.open(clickTag, "_blank");

2. Replace YOUR_DIV_ID_HERE with the DIV ID= from your <div> tag directly below the opening <body> tag. This ID is typically "gwd-ad

3. Zip the .html , .js and images folder together, DO NOT zip the files as a folder underneath a folder, the .html needs to be on the root level of the zip directory. `

4. Upload the .zip file to Terminus and set your click-through URL in the Terminus UI. Your DONE!
